WISD Family Resource / Youth Services Center
Family Resource/Youth Services Centers were created by the Kentucky Education Reform Act of 1990. The intent of the centers is to assist students and families by meeting some of their basic needs. This is done by providing community services or linking families to agencies in their area.
The WISD FRYSC serves all students grades pre-school to 12 and their families. This totals over 850 students. The program is state grant funded based on the number of students eligible for free school meals. Currently, the school free/reduced lunch percentage is over 70%. While the FRYSC serves all students, the services are especially beneficial to students who are at risk of not performing well in school.
Currently, the Wiliamsburg Independent FRYSC is operating out of room 153 of the school. This room is located on the first floor of the school near the cafeteria, media center and other common areas of the school. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 - 3:15 pm, with additional hours available by appointment.
